The top of the Civil Service has been requested how he squares his plans for “inclusiveness” with being a member of the all-male Garrick Membership.

Showing earlier than a choose committee, Simon Case advised Labour MP Liam Byrne he had joined the membership so he may assist reform it from inside.

That prompted laughter and questions from different members, with Tory MP Sir Robert Buckland revealing that he too was a member.

The Guardian has revealed a listing of judges, attorneys, members of the Home of Lords and MPs, plus lecturers, actors, rock stars and senior journalists who’re members of the membership that doesn’t permit ladies.
