The development comes as the Kal Somani–Rob Walton–Sheila Ford Hamp consortium pulled out of the race. This consortium had offered $1.63 billion, in the days leading up to the start of the 2026 season of the league, but as pe reports, it didn’t pass due diligence due to multiple issues.

One of the highlights of Tambe’s time at RR was a hat-trick that he took against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014.

At the other end of the age spectrum is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who is the youngest-ever cricketer to debut in the IPL. Sorryavanshi became the league’s youngest-ever player when Rajasthan Royals handed him the debut at the age of 14 during the 2025 edition. Sooryavanshi has since taken the league by storm, hitting the second and the third quickest hundred in competition’s history.
