NEW DELHI: Following India’s emphatic 434-run victory over England in the third Test at Rajkot, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja emphasized the importance of partnerships and resilience in dealing with difficult situations during the game.
Jadeja, who was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance, discussed the team’s strategy and the critical role played by important players.
“I was just looking to build partnerships with Rohit. We were in a difficult situation,” Jadeja emphasized during the post-match presentation, offering light on his tactics in the face of hardship for the team.
He emphasized the necessity of playing to one’s abilities, taking confident shots, and staying focused on the ball.
“I looked to back my strengths, play my shots, not try to be more conscious. Watch the ball and play the ball. I know about this wicket, if we bat first, it is always good to bat on, in the second half it starts spinning, when Rohit won the toss, we were thinking: this is all that we wanted, bat first, bowl second. On this wicket you won’t get easy wickets, you have to work hard for it. You need to throw balls in good areas, you have to earn your wickets,” Jadeja added.
India’s domination was clear as England struggled to meet a challenging target of 557 runs, eventually surrendering for 122 in 39.4 overs.
Jadeja’s outstanding bowling ability, with five wickets for 41 runs, was critical to India’s emphatic victory.
