“We know that Russia must win this war. Sorry, Ukraine must win this war against Russia, said the Canadian PM, who immediately offered an apology for the unintended blunder

In a slip of the tongue, Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday said “Russia must win the war”, giving ammunition to social media users to bash him. However, upon recognising the error, Trudeau promptly corrected himself, asserting that he meant to say “Ukraine must win this war against Russia”.

“We know that Russia must win this war. Sorry, Ukraine must win this war against Russia,” said the Canadian PM, who immediately offered an apology for the unintended blunder.

The Canadian PM had recently visited Ukraine and announced USD 2.2 billion in financial and military support for the war-torn country.

Trudeau made the statement while addressing a press conference with his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk at Warsaw on Monday. The clip where Trudeau the gaffe was widely shared on social media, mainly X, formerly Twitter.
