SunRisers Hyderabad batter Heinrich Klaasen lost his cool after being dismissed during SRH’s clash against Chennai Super Kings on Monday, May 18, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Klaasen, who looked in ominous touch during his stay at the crease, was dismissed in dramatic fashion after a sensational stumping from CSK wicketkeeper Sanju Samson.

The incident took place in the 15th over of the innings when Noor Ahmad tempted Klaasen into stepping out for a big shot. Attempting to clear the ropes, the SRH batter completely missed the ball and momentarily lifted his back foot off the ground while trying to regain balance.
Samson reacted instantly.
The CSK wicketkeeper whipped off the bails in a flash, leaving the on-field umpire uncertain about whether Klaasen had managed to drag his foot back inside the crease in time. The decision was eventually referred upstairs, and the third umpire confirmed the dismissal after several replays.
As Klaasen began walking back towards the pavilion, cameras appeared to catch a tense exchange between him and Samson. The CSK wicketkeeper, standing close to Klaasen after completing the dismissal, gave the batter a long stare as the SRH star walked away.
Klaasen responded with a few angry words in Samson’s direction before storming off the field. Instead of heading towards the SRH dugout near the boundary rope, the South African batter walked straight into the dressing room, visibly frustrated with the dismissal.
SRH BEAT CSK, QUALIFY FOR PLAYOFFS
Klaasen’s dismissal briefly gave Chennai Super Kings hope of pulling off a comeback, but the hosts were ultimately undone by Ishan Kishan’s composed knock of 70 off 47 balls.
After initially playing second fiddle to Klaasen’s aggressive strokeplay, Kishan took control of the chase in the final phase of the innings. The left-hander accelerated brilliantly in the last four overs and ensured that SunRisers Hyderabad did not allow the game to slip away after Klaasen’s wicket.
Unlike several of SRH’s chaotic batting performances this season, Hyderabad showed far greater control and maturity during the chase. Klaasen laid the foundation with his attacking innings, while Kishan anchored the pursuit smartly. Abhishek Sharma also chipped in with a useful contribution at the top of the order as SRH avoided unnecessary risks for most parts of the innings.
The calmer batting display helped SunRisers Hyderabad seal a massive victory in Chennai and confirm their place in the playoffs for the second time in three seasons.
SRH completed the chase of 181 runs in 19 overs with five wickets remaining, knocking Chennai Super Kings to the brink of elimination in the process.
