Vaibhav Sooryavanshi may have lit up Mullanpur with another breathtaking innings in IPL 2026, but it was his reaction after getting out that caught the attention of fans on social media. Moments after falling agonisingly short of a century against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2, the Rajasthan Royals youngster was seen in an animated conversation with captain Riyan Parag in the dugout.
The clip quickly went viral, with many fans interpreting the exchange as Parag telling something with strictness to a disappointed Sooryavanshi after his dismissal for 96.

For the third time in his last four IPL innings, the 15-year-old found himself stranded in the nineties. Having already missed out on a hundred with a 97 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator, Sooryavanshi once again came within touching distance of the landmark before falling four runs short.
As he walked back to the dugout, the teenager appeared frustrated by the dismissal. Shortly afterwards, cameras captured Parag speaking animatedly to his young teammate, with Sooryavanshi listening intently during the exchange.
HOW SOORYAVANSHI MISSED ANOTHER IPL HUNDRED
Coming into the match fresh from his stunning 97 off 29 balls against SRH, Sooryavanshi faced a very different challenge against Gujarat Titans.
Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada began with disciplined lines and lengths, preventing the youngster from launching into one of his trademark early assaults. His first six did not arrive until the 13th ball he faced, an unusually cautious start by his standards.
With Rajasthan Royals losing Yashasvi Jaiswal for 1 and Dhruv Jurel for 7, Gujarat appeared to have gained early control of the contest.
But Sooryavanshi slowly shifted the momentum.
A 21-run over against Siraj helped release the pressure and allowed Rajasthan to regain the initiative. He brought up his fifty in 31 balls, the slowest half-century of his IPL career, before exploding through the middle overs.
Once Ravindra Jadeja settled at the other end, the teenager switched gears dramatically. He smashed 46 runs from his next 15 deliveries, taking apart the Gujarat attack and racing into the nineties.
The innings also saw him rewrite multiple records. He became the fastest batter to 1,000 IPL runs by balls faced, reaching the milestone in just 440 deliveries, and became the first player in T20 history to score 500 powerplay runs in a single tournament.
A third IPL century appeared inevitable as he closed in on the landmark.
Instead, Sooryavanshi fell for 96 after facing 47 balls, leaving the crowd stunned and the youngster visibly disappointed. The dismissal also made him only the fifth player in IPL history to be dismissed in the nineties three times, joining KL Rahul, David Warner, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Glenn Maxwell.
