Vietnamese-based music company DAO Music Entertainment has entered into a partnership with The Orchard, the distribution and artist/label services company owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
The deal, according to a press release, will give DAO Music Entertainment access to The Orchard‘s global distribution network and resources, with the aim of expanding the reach of Vietnamese music to international audiences.
DAO Music Entertainment was founded in 2020 by CEO Chien Dao and is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City.
The company says it operates as a Vietnamese music-focused ecosystem with three labels and integrated capabilities across music production, artist development, marketing, digital and physical distribution, and publishing.
“We are excited about our partnership with The Orchard and look forward to bringing Vietnamese music to the world together,” said Chien Dao, CEO and Founder of DAO Music Entertainment.
“DAO was built as a complete music ecosystem to develop the next generation of Vietnamese artists and music companies and strengthen the connection between Vietnam and the global music business.
“Leveraging The Orchard‘s global footprint gives us the expertise and network to accelerate that mission.”
DAO Music Entertainment describes itself as “Vietnam’s leading music ecosystem,” offering what it calls comprehensive solutions to support artists and labels at every stage of the music value chain.
The company’s roster includes Vietnamese artists such as Dương Domic – who topped the first-ever Official Vietnam Chart in January 2025, when IFPI launched official music charts across Southeast Asia – as well as Juky San, Ánh Sáng AZA, and more.
“We are excited about our partnership with The Orchard and look forward to bringing Vietnamese music to the world together,” said Chien Dao, CEO and Founder of DAO Music Entertainment.”

The Orchard, led by CEO Brad Navin, operates in more than 50 cities worldwide and services over 26,000 independent labels.
The New York-headquartered company was founded in 1997 and became a fully owned subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment following a $200 million acquisition in 2015.
The deal with DAO Music Entertainment comes amid a period of expansion for The Orchard, which in recent months has acquired Brazil’s OniMusic, struck a global distribution deal with Japan’s Avex Music Group, and appointed Heather Vassar as SVP to lead its Nashville division.
Vietnam‘s music market has attracted growing attention from global music companies in recent years.
In January 2026, Sony Music acquired a 49% stake in 1Label, the music production and artist management unit of Vietnamese media company YeaH1 Group, launching a joint venture called SYE Holdings.
And in March 2026, Primary Wave Music made a strategic investment in Vietnam’s POPS Music, with plans to accelerate catalog deals across Southeast Asia.
In September 2025, Virgin Music Group – part of Universal Music Group – expanded into Vietnam via a joint venture with The Metub Company.
In September 2024, Sony Music Entertainment Vietnam formed a distribution partnership with Vietnamese label Great Entertainment.
