Aaron Stanford was seen in the 2006 release X-Men: The Last Stand. Stanford has now broken his silence on return to the MCU.

In recent developments regarding the forthcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film, it appears that several characters from Fox’s X-Men franchise are ready to make a return to the big screen. Set photos from the production of the third Deadpool instalment also suggest the inclusion of familiar faces such as Sabretooth and Toad, hinting at a reunion that extends beyond the titular protagonists. Adding to the speculation, Marvel Studios’ initial trailer for the highly anticipated project confirms the reprisal of Aaron Stanford’s character, Pyro, who last graced the screen in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. Stanford himself has now broken his silence on his return to the superhero universe.

Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a candid selfie taken during a break in filming, showcasing his attire as a perfect match to Pyro’s costume featured in the teaser trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. “Welly welly welly well. If it isn’t our old Droogie Pyro,” reads the caption.

The first teaser for Deadpool & Wolverine was released during the 2024 Super Bowl, marking the much-anticipated entrance of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the teaser prominently showcased the original cast of the Deadpool franchise, it was the subtle references to the original six MCU superheroes, as well as nods to Loki and other elements, that captured fans’ interest. Ryan Reynolds skillfully incorporated numerous crossovers in the teaser, eliciting excitement from Marvel comic enthusiasts everywhere.

Despite the mounting excitement surrounding the film, details regarding its plot remain scarce, with only snippets of information in the teaser. It reveals that we will see Wade Wilson, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, grappling with the Time Variance Authority (TVA) as he navigates the multiversal complexities inherent in transitioning from Fox’s X-Men continuity to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As anticipation builds for Deadpool 3, fans can rest assured that many familiar faces from the franchise’s earlier instalments will be returning alongside Reynolds. Notably, Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his iconic role as Wolverine, adding further excitement to the project. Additionally, Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Stefan Kapičić as Colossus are all slated to make appearances.

Directed by Shawn Levy and penned by a team including Reynolds, Zeb Wells, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick, Deadpool 3 is scheduled to hit theatres on July 26th, promising a thrilling continuation of the beloved franchise.
