In recent developments regarding the forthcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film, it appears that several characters from Fox’s X-Men franchise are ready to make a return to the big screen. Set photos from the production of the third Deadpool instalment also suggest the inclusion of familiar faces such as Sabretooth and Toad, hinting at a reunion that extends beyond the titular protagonists. Adding to the speculation, Marvel Studios’ initial trailer for the highly anticipated project confirms the reprisal of Aaron Stanford’s character, Pyro, who last graced the screen in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. Stanford himself has now broken his silence on his return to the superhero universe.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a candid selfie taken during a break in filming, showcasing his attire as a perfect match to Pyro’s costume featured in the teaser trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. “Welly welly welly well. If it isn’t our old Droogie Pyro,” reads the caption.

The first teaser for Deadpool & Wolverine was released during the 2024 Super Bowl, marking the much-anticipated entrance of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It reveals that we will see Wade Wilson, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, grappling with the Time Variance Authority (TVA) as he navigates the multiversal complexities inherent in transitioning from Fox’s X-Men continuity to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As anticipation builds for Deadpool 3, fans can rest assured that many familiar faces from the franchise’s earlier instalments will be returning alongside Reynolds. Notably, Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his iconic role as Wolverine, adding further excitement to the project.
