When I was first alerted to the existence of the Prime Video series Sterling Point, my millennial mind automatically jumped to Moody’s Point, the subtly brilliant Dawson’s Creek parody from The Amanda Show. (IYKYK!) As it turns out, Sterling Point—which follows a New York teenager as she inherits her grandfather’s island in Canada, something that is constantly happening to me—is even better.

Below, find every thought I had about Season 1, Episode 1 of Sterling Point, titled “But I Just Took an Ambien.”

  1. OMG, Megan Park of My Old Ass created this show!
  2. I’m already in love.
  3. So, is this sort of a The Summer I Turned Pretty situation?
  4. But with more bite?
  5. “The Summer I Turned Witty,” if you will?
  6. Does anyone really use eye masks?
  7. I have never gone to bed in one without waking up to find it balled up somewhere beneath my pillow, personally, but then again, I have terrible sleep hygiene.
  8. Yay, Olivia Rodrigo needle drop!
  9. I love being a teenager (who remembers 9/11 and owes the IRS money)!
  10. OMG, it’s Josh from Transparent.
  11. Playing a dad of teens!
  12. I am, in fact, not young!
  13. This lil’ diva looks like Anne Hathaway and Rachel Weisz’s love child.
  14. Okay, kids, let’s not use HPV as a slur. Didn’t we learn anything from Girls? All adventurous women (and men, and nonbinary people) do!
  15. Also, what they don’t tell you is that sometimes HPV just…goes away.
  16. Anyway, back to the show!
  17. Ah, gay boyfriend, a classic high-school rite of passage.
  18. “Sup, pimps? Grandpa died” is an all-timer line reading.
  19. One thing about a gay boyfriend, he will be empathetic to your loss.
  20. Wow, real, live paper letters in this day and age.
  21. Ooh, a mystery!
  22. A familial mystery, even!
  23. Ah, so Annie and her twin brother are adopted?
  24. Why are all these teens going to Ibiza/Greece/Thailand, etc.?
  25. I mean, I guess I am going to Ireland and Scotland this month, but that took half a year to save up for!
  26. Kids these days, etc.
  27. It’s a 45-minute flight from New York to Toronto?
  28. Learn something new every day, I suppose.
  29. I do relate to the phenomenon of accidentally Ambien-ing yourself, because I once popped one instead of the Advil I meant to take right before an English Lit seminar in college and had to pinch myself to stay awake for the next three hours.
  30. Not too much on Toronto, now!
  31. Ooh, sexy pilot (who is kind of indistinguishable from Annie’s brother to me, but I stay mixing up brunette white guys).
  32. Seaplane! Fun!
  33. Annie doesn’t think so, though.
  34. Traveling in white jeans…bold.
  35. Aw, I love this Canadian cabin!
  36. It’s so wasted on a teenager, though.
  37. Now, a woman in her early 30s (such as myself) could really cozy up with some orange wine and do The Artist’s Way in there.
  38. What was that sound?
  39. Is this about to turn into a The Shards-style slasher flick?
  40. Oh, no, LOL, it was just a squirrel (that my dog is very interested in chasing, despite the fact that it’s merely rendered on TV and is not real).
  41. Oh, it’s a full white outfit, not just the jeans.
  42. Today’s youth are more stain-confident than I, it appears.
  43. A New Yorker without a driver’s license? Likely as hell.
  44. I, personally, did not get my license until I was 24, and that was after a full year of commuting around LA via bike and only barely escaping with my life.
  45. Yay, fun friend!
  46. Fun gay friend, even?
  47. Or perhaps…fun, gay more-than-friend?
  48. LMAO at this The Let Them Theory cameo.
  49. I refuse to ever learn what that book is about.
  50. I’m having severe curl envy.
  51. Hey, it’s Canada Day!
  52. And, more importantly, it’s Izzie’s sexy LVAD-wire-cutting ghost boyfriend Denny from Grey’s Anatomy!
  53. Ooh, a shoppy shop.
  54. Gay mom banter!
  55. Damn, Denny still looks fine as hell.
  56. Not this being “the poor area”!
  57. Cigs and pink wine upon the water…ah, the glories of youth.
  58. Kaia Gerber mentioned!
  59. The Drama of the Gifted Child!
  60. Now, that’s a self-help book I can get behind (not because I was particularly gifted, but because I was dramatic and annoying).
  61. Heterosexual flirtation hours by the lake 🙂
  62. Wait, so the house is worth a ton of money, but the grandpa gave it to Annie?
  63. And her Ibiza-going twin, I assume?
  64. God, the gratitude I feel to be on my couch and not at a bad-teen party right now.
  65. Damn, Annie’s New York house is nice.
  66. “Rush” by Kylie Minogue playing? IKTR!
  67. OMG, it’s Missi Pyle, a.k.a. the sister or friend’s sister or something from Josie and the Pussycats!
  68. Women simply love to ask daughters of single dads, “So, is he…dating anyone?” with a weird, conspiratorial grin (as I can personally attest).
  69. Wait, so Annie and her brother’s mom filed for divorce from their dad?
  70. Missi Pyle, The White Lotus needs you, stat!
  71. OMG, a random girl who’s also Annie’s grandfather’s granddaughter (allegedly) just showed up!
  72. Okay, I’m locked in.
