Defending Champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made a notable return to form after their back-to-back victories in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the 15th match of the season on April 3 (Thursday). SRH’s explosive opener Travis Head continued his abysmal form against KKR. After the win, KKR took to social media and took a brutal dig at Head.
SRH’s latest defeat leaves them with just one win from their first four outings this season. After a record-breaking 286-runs on the board against Rajasthan Royals in their season opener, the team’s batting unit has not performed well, failing to cross the 200-run mark in subsequent games.

Head has given a hard time to nearly every IPL franchise he has faced since IPL 2024 but his performances against KKR have been underwhelming. In his recent outing against KKR, he fell for just 4 runs. Notably, the Australian opener came into the match without having opened his account in his previous two innings against KKR. Following Head’s early exit on Thursday, KKR took to social media platform of X (formerly Twitter) and fired a brutal dig at the Aussie opener.
Mentioning his last three scores against KKR (0, 0 & 4), the team’s social media handle wrote, “Head-ing towards the business, right from the start”

Pat Cummins Acknowledges SRH’s Poor Form
SRH skipper Pat Cummins admitted that his side is far from their best in the IPL 2025 season, citing poor execution in both batting and fielding. “Not a great time. I think this was gettable, pretty good wicket. Left too many in the field and then fell well short in the end. We need to be realistic, three games in a row it hasn’t come off for us. We need to maybe look back at whether we could have chosen better options. Our batters are best when they take the game on, but looking back maybe we could have taken different options,” he said during the post-match presentation.
