The ultimate competition-related approval for Air India-Vistara merger coming in from the Singapore regulator will now enable each airways to share detailed info to optimise their schedules and contracts, Air India chief Campbell Wilson stated on Friday.

On March 5, the Competitors and Client Fee of Singapore (CCCS) granted conditional approval for the deal after accepting sure commitments from Air India, Singapore Airways and Vistara to handle potential anti-competition considerations.

In a message to employees on Friday, Air India Chief Govt Officer and Managing Director Campbell Wilson stated the CCCS nod enhances the approval granted by the Competitors Fee of India (CCI) six months in the past for the proposed merger.

“… being the ultimate competition-related approval, permits Air India and Vistara to now share detailed info to optimise our schedules, contracts and speed up the journey to merger,” he stated.

Based on him, the challenge, involving greater than 80 folks over 8 months, to harmonise working procedures and manuals throughout the 4 Tata airways is now getting into its last part.

“Alignment of procedures will expedite the protected switch of crew and plane from one AOC to a different, so it a crucial facet of bringing our two LCCs, and our two FSCs, into the ultimate state,” he added.
