A Boeing 737 airplane has skidded off the runway of Senegal’s major airport inflicting accidents to 10 individuals, 4 of whom are in a severe situation.

Flights have been suspended close to the capital Dakar after the airplane went into the grass earlier than take-off through the early hours of Thursday, a spokesperson for the principle airport Blaise Diagne mentioned.

Dramatic footage on social media reveals the airplane with the emblem of Senegal-based airline Transair standing on the bottom with fire-suppressing foam protecting the wing.

In a press release, transport minister El Malick Ndiaye mentioned the flight was heading to Bamako late on Wednesday, and had been carying 79 passengers, two pilots and 4 cabin crew.

The injured are presently being handled whereas the opposite survivors have been taken to a resort to relaxation.

Transair didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.

The airline relies in Blaise Diagne airport and operates home flights and worldwide routes inside West Africa.
