A Bahujan Samaj Occasion (BSP) chief who unsuccessfully contested the 2023 meeting polls in Madhya Pradesh has been shot lifeless within the state’s Chhatarpur metropolis, police stated. Mahendra Gupta was shot within the head close to a wedding backyard on Sagar Street on Monday evening, Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi stated.

“Gupta died on the spot. The accused fled from the crime scene,” the SP stated. A resident of Ishanagar city, Gupta contested the 2023 meeting polls from Bijawar seat on the BSP ticket and secured third place by getting 10,400 votes.
