Aimed at urban commuters looking for a family-friendly scooter, the Rizta features a mature design and spacious seating for two.
Ather, the electric vehicle manufacturer, has once again teased its upcoming scooter, the Rizta, this time through popular comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi’s Instagram profile.
Bassi shared the teaser with the caption “Yeh hai mera naya Rizta. Ather ka naya family scooter. Kisi ko batana mat but maine toh test ride leli hai. Can’t wait for you and your family to ride the new Rizta soon.”
The Ather Rizta is set to debut at the brand’s Community Day 2024 event and promises a blend of practicality and sophistication in its design.

The scooter boasts smooth, curvy panelling throughout, with an LED headlight positioned at the lower section of the front apron. The large front fender follows a classic design format distinct from the Ather 450 range.
One of the key features revealed is a large instrument panel, which may either be a touchscreen or a simple LCD unit depending on the pricing strategy. The LCD unit, similar to the one on the Ather 450S, supports Bluetooth connectivity for calls and music and features turn-by-turn navigation.
The Rizta’s size is noticeably larger than existing 110cc and 125cc ICE scooters, offering ample space for both the rider and pillion. The seat is longer and wider, with Ather highlighting its size in social media posts.
The scooter also features a large floorboard area, suitable for carrying groceries and other items, and is expected to include a frunk and large under-seat storage. With its larger dimensions, the Ather Rizta is likely to be heavier than the 450 range, potentially requiring a larger battery pack and a new electric motor.
However, it is expected to inherit the tech kit from the existing 450 range, including features like park assist, auto hold, auto indicator cut-off, and guide-me-home light.
The scooter is also expected to come with safety features such as an emergency stop signal and FailSafe, as well as app-based functionalities like tow and theft alert, locating the scooter, real-time charge status, push navigation, finding Ather Grid charging points, and ride insights.
Ather is planning to launch the Rizta later this year in June where it will compete with models like the Ola S1 Air and TVS iQube.
The scooter is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
