Based on a Moneycontrol report, the officers famous that the air visitors radar automation system at Mumbai airport was down between 3:00 pm-5:15 pm and added that air passenger visitors can be restored in a couple of hours.
This isn’t the primary time a fault has been reported within the automation system at Mumbai Airport. It has seen glitches and failures within the latest previous. The system confronted greater than 70 issues in June 2022.
In 2023, the Air Visitors Controllers Guild had written a letter to the Airports Authority of India and MoCA stating that the Air visitors radar automation system on the airport was outdated.
The {hardware} for the present automation system is over 18 years outdated; whereas the lifespan of the system is estimated to be 10 years, the letter mentioned, in line with a Moneycontrol report.
