Heavy traffic congestion is reported at Delhi-Noida borders as security personnel intensify vehicle checks due to the farmers’ protest in Noida and Greater Noida, which is head to the capital. Alongside police, Rapid Action Force personnel are deployed to manage the situation, with riot control vehicles.
Since December 2023, farmers in Noida and Greater Noida have been staging protests, seeking increased compensation and developed plots for land acquired by local development authorities in the past.Commuters travelling between Delhi and Noida should prepare for delays today.
The Delhi Police Commissionerate has issued an advisory detailing restrictions on the Yamuna Expressway and Noida-Greater Noida Expressway during the farmers’ protest. These restrictions will be enforced from 7 AM to 10.30 PM today.

Delhi-Noida traffic jam: Routes to avoid and alternate routes:
As per the traffic advisory issued by the police department, traffic from Golchakkar Chowk Sector-1 to Jhundpura Chowk will be diverted via Rajnigandha Chowk.
Traffic from Jhundpura Chowk to Golchakkar Chowk Sector-1 is redirected via Sector-8, Sector-10, Sector-11, Sector-112 Chowk. Further, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk to Harola Chowk traffic is diverted via Rohan Motors Tiraha, IGL Chowk Sector-1, Golchakkar Chowk, and Ashok Nagar.
Harola Chowk to Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk traffic is rerouted via Sector-16 Market. No diversions for Golchakkar Chowk to Rajnigandha Chowk towards Sector-18, Sector-27, Sector-37, etc.
Delhi-bound commuters from Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and MP-1 route can use Chilla red light for DND access during traffic.
Similarly, travellers from Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Delhi via Chilla Red Light can switch to DND during Chilla Red Light congestion. Commuters from Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Delhi via Mahamaya Flyover can opt for DND during Chilla and DND traffic jams.
