Hero MotoCorp launched the Mavrick 440, a premium motorcycle with three variants, echoing Harley Davidson’s style, starting at Rs 1.99 lakh.
Hero MotoCorp has added a brand-new offering to its flagship portfolio by launching the Mavrick 440.
According to the company’s official website, the delivery of the Hero Mavrick 440 is set to commence on April 15 this year. Booking can be made by depositing an initial amount of Rs 5,000.
The Mavrick 440 will be available in three variants– Base, Mid and Top. The entry-level model has a price tag of Rs 1.99 lakh while the following two variants will cost Rs 2.14 lakh, and Rs 2.24 lakh respectively (all prices are ex-showroom).
The premium motorcycle has been built on the same concept as the Harley Davidson X440, which was co-developed by Hero and Harley. The Mavrick is the second product from the Indo-American joint venture. The bike, however, features a completely different look as it solely dons the Hero emblem and has been placed at the top of the company’s line-up. The name, which stands for unorthodox, might have been derived from the Tom Cruise starrer action thriller Top Gun: Maverick.
Equipped with spoked wheels, the base variant of the Mavrick 440 is offered in one colour option– Arctic White. For the mid variant, customers can choose from two dual-tone schemes– Celestial Blue and Fearless Red. This model comes with alloy wheels.
The top variant of the Mavrick series has some premium features such as diamond-cut alloys and a Bluetooth-supported digital console. Having diamond-cut alloy wheels, this model will be available in two dark shades– Enigma Black and Phantom Black.
Speaking about its design, the Mavrick 440 gets a robust fuel tank with extensions alongside a round LED headlamp with an H-shaped daytime running light. It has an upright riding stance enabled by an 803mm seat, optimised grab rails and wide handlebars. The bike comes with an LCD screen where the rider can receive call and message alerts and keep track of speed, revolutions per minute, gear position and indicator lights.
Similar to the Harley Davidson X440, the Mavrick 440 is powered by a 440cc, single-cylinder, air or oil-cooled engine. It is capable of generating a maximum power of 27bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 38Nm at 4,000rpm. The powertrain is mounted to a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch.
