NEW DELHI: The Congress launched an inventory of observers for 3 Lok Sabha constituencies of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.
The listing consists of the names of Sanjay Dutt, Anees Ahmed and Dheeraj Gurjar.
In a letter dated April 14, Congress Common Secretary KC Venugopal mentioned, “Congress President has accepted the proposal of the appointment of the next leaders as observers for the next Lok Sabha constituencies in Himachal Pradesh, with fast impact.”
The senior Congress chief, who has additionally entered the fray for the Lok Sabha, mentioned Sanjay Dutt will oversee the celebration’s electoral affairs in Mandi, whereas Anees Ahmed whereas Dheeraj Gurjar would be the observer for Kangra.
Himachal Pradesh has 4 Lok Sabha seats–Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, and Kangra.
The polling for 4 Lok Sabha seats in Himachal, together with six Meeting seats that fell vacant following the disqualification of Congress MLAs, can be held on June 1.
The BJP received all 4 LS seats in 2019 and the counting can be carried out on June 4.
The Mandi constituency is taken into account a stronghold of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s household.
The seat is at the moment held by the late chief’s spouse, Pratibha Devi Singh. She was elected after a bye-election in 2021, after the demise of BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma.
