Trial runs on prolonged Orange Line begin from Ruby crossing to Beleghata station. Metro goals for business service quickly after readiness evaluation.

Metro Railway authorities will provoke trial runs on the prolonged stretch of the Orange Line, spanning from Ruby crossing to Beleghata station alongside E M Bypass, from Saturday.

Presently, business providers function between New Garia to Ruby Crossing stretch of this hall, protecting a distance of 5.4 km and encompassing 5 stations – Kavi Subhash, Satyajit Ray, Jyotirindra Nandi, Kavi Sukanta, and Hemanta Mukhopadhyay.

With this extension, commuters could have the comfort of interchanging from the Blue Line (Dakshineswar-New Garia) to the Orange Line and vice versa at Kavi Subhash station, they added.

The trial run on the prolonged Orange Line goals to evaluate readiness for commencing business providers from Kavi Subhash to Beleghata stretch within the close to future, Metro Railway stated in a press release.

The prolonged stretch from Hemanta Mukhopadhyay to Beleghata spans 4.39 km and consists of 4 stations – VIP Bazar, Ritwik Ghatak, Barun Sengupta, and Beleghata.

On April 27, one empty rake shall be utilised to conduct the trial run on each UP and DN traces. Not too long ago, the Commissioner of Railway Security inspected this stretch and offered a number of solutions relating to infrastructure enhancements.
