NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday performed raids at TMC chief Mahua Moitra‘s residence in reference to the money for question case.
CBI can be conducting raids at different areas in Kolkata.
The raids come after CBI filed an FIR towards the previous TMC MP on Thursday in response to directives from the anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal.The Lokpal had issued directions to the CBI after reviewing the findings of the company’s preliminary inquiry into allegations raised by BJP Lok Sabha member Nishikant Dubey towards Mahua.
The Lokpal directed the CBI to analyze comprehensively all aspects of the complaints towards her inside six months.
Mahua, who was expelled from the Lok Sabha in December final 12 months for alleged “unethical conduct,” is at the moment difficult her expulsion within the Supreme Courtroom. Regardless of the controversy, she is about to contest the upcoming basic elections because the TMC’s candidate from the Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal.
Dubey accused Mahua of soliciting money and presents from Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani in alternate for elevating questions within the Lok Sabha to criticize industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, amongst others. Mahua vehemently denied these allegations.
