Babar Azam, on Monday, February 26, slammed his 11th hundred in T20 cricket. The former Pakistan skipper achieved the milestone in Peshawar Zalmi’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match against the Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

It also happened to be his 2nd century in the PSL after the one he got against the Quetta Gladiators last year. On Monday, Babar again gave a glimpse of his stupendous best, this time against the United, captained by Shadab Khan.

After being put in to bat first, Zalmi scored 201 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. He got to his fifty off 39 balls, after which he raced to a 3-figure score in 59 balls.

Babar put on 77 runs for the opening wicket with young left-hander Saim Ayub. Thereafter, he stitched together an unbeaten 77-run stand with Asif Ali.

Babar stayed unbeaten until the very end and made sure that the Zalmi went past the 200-run mark.

Babar is one of the 2 batters along with the legendary Chris Gayle to score 10 or more hundreds in T20 cricket.

Babar Azam smashing records at will

Babar, earlier, became the first batter to score 3000 runs in the history of the PSL. Thereafter, he became the fastest batter to score 10,000 runs in T20s, breaking Chris Gayle record.

In 84 matches in the PSL, Babar has scored 3265 runs at an average of 45.98 and a strike-rate of 127.09 with 2 hundreds and 30 fifties to show for his efforts.

Babar is also nearing the 4000-run mark in T20Is, having scored 3698 runs from 109 matches at an average of 41.55.

Babar is expected to play a crucial role when Pakistan take part in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and United States of America (USA).
