The Supreme Courtroom on Monday dismissed the bail petition of former Delhi minister Satyendra Jain and directed him to give up. Jain was lodged in Tihar jail earlier than he secured an interim medical bail in a cash laundering case.

The matter was heard by a Supreme Courtroom bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal who rejected the extension request and requested the petitioner to give up.

Advocate Vivek Jain, who appeared for the previous minister, sought an extension of time to give up, citing his sick well being. The court docket rejected the request and maintained its order, HT reported.

The case pertains to the allegation that Jain, a former minister within the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi cupboard, misused his place as minister from February 2015 to Might 2017 to amass disproportionate belongings value over 1.4 crore.

The Enforcement Directorate subsequently started an investigation into the cash laundering costs by way of three corporations allegedly linked to him.

The ED, which later connected the alleged proceeds of crime value Rs 4.60 crore within the case, claimed that Satyendra Jain was controlling the three corporations by way of the directorship of his spouse, Poonam Jain.

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who appeared for Satyendra Jain, earlier cited shareholding, directorship, and management over the financials of the businesses and stated the petitioner couldn’t be stated to have held management over them.

Earlier this month, Delhi LG V Ok Saxena granted sanction for a CBI probe in opposition to former minister Satyendar Jain in a criticism of extortion filed by cash laundering accused Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
