Bade Miyan Chote Miyan event in Lucknow took a shocking turn. UP Police were seen resorting to lathi-charge after a mob went out of control.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s Lucknow promotional event took a shocking turn after the UP police had to resort to lathi charge to tame the crowd. On Monday, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff were in Lucknow for the promotions of their upcoming film. It came as no surprise that fans thronged to the venue to catch a glimpse of their favourite star. However, in a video shared by The Tribune on YouTube, the gather soon took a dark turn. Fans were seen throwing chappals in the crowd and a stampede almost broke out.

In the video, UP cops were seen trying to control the crowd before opting to lathi charge at the unruly crowd. They stopped the crowd from misbehaving and brought the situation under control. Akshay and Tiger were at a safe distance from the mob. Watch the videos below:

A Hindustan Times report claimed that a few people were injured. However, police has refuted the claims. A PR representative who was a part of the event said that the mob went out of control after the stars began to throw merchandise at them.

“Fans made a scramble to catch the items that were thrown towards them, which broke the barricades that were supposed to hold them back,” said Anand Krishna, representative of the PR company which organised the event. “The actors left the show midway much before the scheduled time,” a person involved in the organising committee said.

In the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff embody the roles of courageous soldiers, bravely confronting a significant threat to India’s security. Apart from the duo, the star-studded cast also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, Sonakshi Sinha, Alaya F, and Ronit Roy. Directed and written by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is backed by Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is scheduled to be released on April 9, coinciding with the festive occasion of Eid.
