NEW DELHI: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday took custody of BRS MLC Ok Kavitha, in reference to Delhi excise coverage case.
Delhi’s Rouse Avenue courtroom on Tuesday prolonged the judicial custody of BRS chief Ok Kavitha until April 23.
A metropolis courtroom Monday had denied interim bail to Kavitha, saying she was “prima facie actively concerned” in alleged cash laundering, destruction of proof and making an attempt to affect witnesses.
Kavitha was arrested on March 15 from Hyderabad, hours after an ED staff searched the premises and interrogated her. She is at present in judicial custody in Tihar Jail.
The company stating that the investigation is at a “very essential stage” and in case reduction as prayed for is granted to her, it will enormously hamper the investigation submitted that she fails to fulfill the circumstances of the ‘Triple Check’ for grant of bail.
