The World Nature Pictures award winners have been introduced from a pool of entries from all corners of the globe – together with a child elephant in Kenya and an owl-like plant in Thailand. The highest award and money prize of $1,000 went to Tracey Lund from the UK for her picture of two gannets below the water off the coast of the Shetland Islands.
