Several Taylor Swift songs have been removed from social media videos posted by President Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House, which has used two of the pop star’s songs over the past week.
According to a report by Reuters, Swift has not recently spoken about Trump, although she endorsed his Democratic rival, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, in the 2024 presidential election.
During the 2020 campaign, Swift had criticised Trump on social media, saying he was “WELL AWARE we do not want him as our president.”
Trump has also repeatedly criticised Swift. After she endorsed Harris in 2024, Trump wrote on social media, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Last year, he again took aim at the singer, questioning whether she was “HOT” after his criticism of her.

Dozens of artists, including Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, have urged the Trump administration not to use their songs.
Trump Campaign Uses Taylor Swift Songs
The Trump campaign used two Swift songs over the past week on its TikTok account.
One video played on the lyrics and titles of Swift’s songs, featuring references such as “Red (Donald Trump’s Version)” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (The Biden-Harris Administration).” The post also included references to Trump’s policies and political messaging.
In June, Trump’s campaign posted another video featuring Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You,” a song from the upcoming Toy Story 5. The video showed Trump interacting with children at the White House, dancing at a UFC event and appearing at a rally.
The post was captioned: “Nobody loves our country & the American People more than @President Donald J Trump.”
The video marked the third time the Trump administration or his campaign had used one of Swift’s songs in recent months.
In April, the White House shared a video of the Artemis II crew meeting Trump that featured Swift’s “High Infidelity”, including the lyric, “Do you really want to know where I was April 29th?”
The White House also used Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” in a TikTok video posted in November. The video featured the US flag, monuments and several images of Trump, including his 2023 arrest mugshot.
The post sparked widespread reaction on social media, prompting a White House spokesperson to tell multiple news outlets that the administration knew news organisations “would breathlessly amplify them.”

Trump’s communications team, which is highly active on social media, has also used popular songs alongside posts featuring the president’s immigration crackdown, US military operations against Iran and the arrest of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
