The federal government on Tuesday mentioned it obtained bids from seven corporations together with Reliance Industries and JSW Neo Vitality for production-linked incentives to arrange battery manufacturing amenities of 10 GWh capability with an outlay of INR 3,620 crore. The opposite bidders on the record included ACME Cleantech Options Personal Restricted, Amara Raja Superior Cell Applied sciences Personal Restricted, Anvi Energy Industries Personal Restricted, Lucas TVS Restricted, and Waaree Energies Restricted. The bids for manufacturing amenities with a cumulative capability of 70 GWh got here in response to a world tender issued by the Heavy Industries Ministry on January 24 this 12 months.
“The scheme obtained an awesome response from business as bids obtained is 7 instances the manufacturing capability of 10 GWh to be awarded,” the ministry said.
The ministry had introduced the re-bidding of Manufacturing Linked Incentives (PLI) for 10 GWh Superior Chemistry Cell (ACC) manufacturing.
The pre-bid assembly was held on 12 February. The final date for receiving purposes was April 22 and the technical bids have been opened on Tuesday.
In Might 2021, the Union Cupboard had authorised the PLI scheme for the Nationwide Programme on ACC battery storage with an outlay of INR 18,100 crore. The scheme goals to realize home manufacturing capability of fifty Giga Watt hours (GWh) of battery storage.
The primary spherical of bidding was concluded in March 2022 and three corporations have been allotted a complete capability of 30 GWh. The settlement with chosen corporations was signed in July 2022.
