It is now easier for London passengers to book a Eurostar ticket and a connecting sleeper train in mainland Europe thanks to a new booking system.

Night train operator European Sleeper, which runs services across the continent connecting major cities such as Berlin, Prague and Amsterdam, has now made it simpler for London customers to hop on a train on its network.

While plans are in place to expand Channel Tunnel services, at present the only way for passengers to travel between mainland Europe and London by train is to book a Eurostar ticket.

Instead of navigating separate ticketing websites, European Sleeper has partnered with Choo-Choo, an international train connection and cross-border ticket platform, allowing passengers to add a Eurostar ticket to and from London to their night train journey.

Chris Engelsman, co -founder of European Sleeper, said: “With this new feature, we make it easier for travellers to book connecting trains across Europe.

“Passengers get proper travel advice and can buy the additional ticket directly within the booking flow of europeansleeper.eu.

“It is ideal for travellers to and from London who want to connect with the night train.”

The new integrated feature lets customers search for compatible connections on the European Sleeper website beyond its own network, with suggestions for suitable trains and transfer advice.

If a connection is missed or a train is delayed, Choo-Choo will assist customers rather than European Sleeper.

Additional costs may apply, and rebooking, compensation and passenger rights will depend on the operators and ticket conditions involved.

Currently, the European Sleeper platform provides Eurostar tickets to and from Brussels on its night trains that run through the Belgian city.

With a connecting train in Brussels, passengers can now use one booking platform to travel at night between London and major destinations such as Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Milan and Lake Como.

The cheapest journey is from London to Berlin, costing from €101 (£85.65). The night train company said the Eurostar fare shown in its booking flow is the real-time price, exactly as on the Eurostar website.

European Sleeper’s platform currently does not sell other Eurostar services between London and Paris or Amsterdam, meaning that Brussels is the only integrated connecting station at present.

European Sleeper said it plans to expand its connecting train services to other cities.

If travelling via a different city, passengers can still buy Eurostar tickets on a separate website, but it would mean using multiple ticketing platforms.
