Tata Motors launched the new Nexon facelift a few months ago. The Tata Nexon facelift gets a new design, improved dynamics, a new interior, additional features, updated engine and gearbox options. And now, the company has announced that the new Nexon has scored a 5-star rating from Global NCAP again. The compact SUV had previously scored a 5-star rating in Global NCAP in 2018.

GNCAP has new and strengthened safety norms in place. The new Tata Nexon facelift has received 32.22 points out of 34 and 44.52 points out of 49, for adult and child occupancy protection, respectively. GNCAP says that in the front impact, the Nexon facelift offered good protection to the head and neck. Driver’s and passenger’s chest showed adequate protection while knees showed good protection. The Footwell area was rated as stable and the body’s heel was rated stable and it is capable of withstanding further loadings.

In child occupancy protection, 3-year-old and 18-month-old dummies were placed. GNCAP said that the Nexon provided almost full protection in the front impact tests, and offer full side impact protection. The tested model was equipped with safety features such as six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminders, and ISOFIX mounts. Other safety features include a blind view monitor, 360-degree surround camera, front and rear parking sensors, hill hold control, auto-dimming IRVM, and fog lamps with cornering function.

The Nexon is offered in two engine options – a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine which puts out 115 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque and comes paired either with a 6-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Another engine is the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine which puts out 120 hp of power and 170 Nm of torque. The petrol engine gets four gearbox options – a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, AMT and a dual-clutch DCA automatic.
The Tata Nexon facelift 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, single pane sunroof, cruise control, automatic headlamps with wipers, touch-based panel for HVAC controls and more.
