World Social gathering frontman and former The Waterboys member Karl Wallinger has died aged 66.

The Welsh-born musician shaped World Social gathering in 1986 and wrote the monitor She’s The One which featured on the band’s 1997 album Egyptology.

She’s The One was lined by Robbie Williams in 1999 and reached primary on the UK singles chart.

A press release from Wallinger’s publicist says he died on Sunday 10 March however no explanation for loss of life is given.

The multi-instrumentalist recorded 5 albums with World Social gathering between 1987 and 2000 – with debut report Personal Revolution together with the minor hit Ship Of Fools.

Wallinger was the one constant member of World Social gathering and is alleged to have recorded a lot of the act’s materials as a one-man band.
